October 4, 2024 Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Turley. Commissioner Pancratz and Commissioner Turley were present.
Bill Tieszen and Theresa Doumitt were present.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to approve the agenda for the day after adding Barb Wacker at 1:00. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to approve the minutes from the September 27, 2024 meeting as written. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Public comment:
Deputy County Attorney Krakowka entered the meeting.
Mr. Tieszen explained his approach for installation of the temporary roof at the Wier Building.
Ms. Doumitt asked the Commissioners if it was ok to move forward with getting quotes for work on the Wier Building. All Commissioners agreed. Ms. Doumitt let the Commissioner know the Main Street application has been submitted and she is working on the Coal Board application.

Commissioner Goffena made the motion to sign Resolution 2024-31 for 2024/2025 Budget Amendments. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to sign the Tieszen Temporary Roof Contract for the Wier Building after requiring Commercial General Liability. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to sign Resolution 2024-32 Amending and superseding Resolution 2024-25 increasing refuse rates in Musselshell County. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to sign Certificate of Survey 2024-17 a family transfer is Section 19, Township 8 North, Range 27 East creating Tract 1 and 2. Submitted by George D. and Loris Smith. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Sheriff Lesnik gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. There was a “Scam Awareness’ class last week to try to educate the community of all the scams that are going on. Mr. Lesnik and Deputy County Attorney Krakowka investigated signs in the County ROW.
DES Coordinator Rook gave his weekly report to the Commissioners DNRC has issued staffing stations for over the weekend due to high temperatures and wind. Mr. Rook has been trying to contact State DES regarding another buy-out and the culvert grant. No new addresses this week.
CFO Kirk met with the Commissioners to go over grants and auditor requests.
Barb Wacker, Chuck Widdicomb, Joe Tieni, Deputy County Attorney Krakowka and Sheriff Lesnik met with the Commissioners over a sign dispute on Allen Road.
Kathy Eike with the Melstone Pool Committee met with the Commissioners regarding a bid they received for a pool liner. The pool was not able to open this summer because the liner was ripped so they are making this a priority. They are going to The Signal Peak Foundation for a grant but will need more funding. The Commissioners agreed to use $25,000.00 of the C.A.R.E.S Act money for the project.
Ambulance Director Solberg gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. The YouTube link has been put in multiple locations on the website. They are getting new fencing for around the East Repeater to try to keep cows away.
All Commissioners went to Lewistown Wednesday October 2, 2024 to visit with Senator Tester. Mr. tester is in full support of the Crow Revenue Bill and the Sentinel Minuteman Project.
Commissioners did claims on Thursday October 3, 2024. Claims =$99,432.65
Public comment:
Monty Sealey was present and told the Commissioners they need to do the application for the service hook-up at the airport with the CMRWA (Central Montana Regional Water Authority. It will be on the October 11, 2024 Agenda.
Vincent Johnson called in with an issue with Law Enforcement.
There being no further business Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to adjourn for the day. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
