The meeting was called to order at 8:40 by Commissioner Goffena. Commissioner Turley was present. Commissioner Pancratz was a little late due to the extreme weather.
Pledge of allegiance.
Commissioner Turley made the motion to approve the agenda for the day after adding Resolution 2025-41 amending Resolution 2025-36 on the name of Musselshell County Senior Services. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion as amended. Motion carried.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to table signing the December 5, 2025 minutes until they are completed. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Pancratz joined the meeting.
Norma Trent joined the meeting.
Public comment:
Ms. Trent had received an e-mail from someone regarding floodplain properties. The Commissioners suggested directing them to DES.
No more public comment.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to sign the State/County Cooperative Fire Protection Agreement between the State of Montana and Musselshell County. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Turley made the motion to Outlay #4 request for reimbursement for FAA 3-30-0066-019-2025 submitted by KLJ. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to sign Resolution 2025-41 amending Resolution 2025-36 renaming the Musselshell County Senior Services. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion. Motion carried.
All Commissioners had a call to Liza Merkowski’s staff on the Crow Revenue Act on Monday December 8, 2025
Commissioner Turley attended a refuse Board meeting on Tuesday December 9, 2025.
All Commissioners were on the radio Wednesday Morning December 10, 2025.
All Commissioners had a meeting with the Developer (High Plains Architect) for the Wier building on Wednesday December 10, 2025 and following was a meeting with the Wier Building consultant Theresa Doumitt.
Commissioner Goffena had a Watershed meeting on Thursday December 11, 2025. An invasive species of mussel, the Golden Mussel is getting close to the Montana Border from North Dakota. We are supposed to have above average precipitation and temperatures this winter season.
County Accounting Specialist Marshall has been working on the end of year adjustments.
DES Director Russell and Coordinator Rook gave their weekly report to the Commissioners. Next week they are going to be signing off on the DNRC Fire Fighter Assistance Grant. Mr. Rook has been working on the Flood Plain Permit for the Busy Bee. They are getting a quote from the contractor that is doing programs for GIS and maps. There will be a 911 Committee meeting on January 6, 2026 at the Ambulance Barn at noon.
There being no further business and due to very bad snow the Commissioners decided to close the Courthouse at noon. Moved by Commissioner Turley. Seconded by Commissioner Goffena.
