When the State of Montana MVD mailed out the January motor vehicle renewals (blue cards), they calculated the county option on 2025 vehicle values, not the 2026 values. As a result, the amount due on the card is incorrect.
The good news is that the amounts on the card are more than they should be.
*If you are renewing by mail, please call this office at (406)323-2504 to have us calculate the correct amount for you.
*If you are renewing in person, please wait until you arrive to fill out your payment amount.
This only applies to the January renewals. The February renewals will be correct.
