The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Borner. Commissioner Carlson was present. Commissioner Berry was not present.

Pledge of Allegiance.

Commissioner Carlson made the motion to approve the agenda as submitted. Commissioner Borner seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Commissioner Carlson made the motion to approve the August 19, 2019 minutes as submitted. Commissioner Borner seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Commissioner Carlson did not have any board meetings.

Commissioner Borner attended a Mental Health Board meeting on Friday August 23, 2019 and they are doing good on their budget. Commissioner Borner is working with Kathie Bailey from Snowy Mountain Development Corp. on different grant options for the impound building for the Sheriff, a building for the Road Department and fixing the old ambulance barn to house dispatch. These grants would be for the planning and design and then go to the Coal Board for the actual funding.

The work at the fairgrounds and the Courthouse steps should start this weekend.

Commissioner Borner is going to ask MACo about being able to purchase the property with a Floodplain violation at the appraised amount.

Road and Bridge Supervisor Stockert and Secretary Kenner gave their weekly report to the Commissioners. Signs were put up on Colony Road to help with resident’s speed. Mr. Stockert had pictures from the before and after of work being done on Fishel Creek Road. The pictures were of only 4 hours work. Residents need to be reminded that they have to have a little patience when road work is being done. Alec Roy Road stabilization was discussed. A culvert will need put in eventually. Still working on the Floodplain permits.

Clerk & Recorder Tomassi met with the Commissioners to discuss budgets.

Casey Collins with Congressman Gianforte’s Office visited with the Commissioners.

DES Coordinator Fisher gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. Fish Wildlife and Parks are going to get the paperwork started on the fishing access and campground at the Riverside property. Mr. Fisher learned a lot at the Floodplain meeting last Friday. They will be working on “after the fact variances” for the hail storm and road work. There were 6 fires over the weekend. Interviews for the DES position will be Thursday August 29, 2019.

There was a Department Head meeting at noon.

Justice of the Peace Marking met with the Commissioners to go over budget, claims and personnel.

Ambulance Director Solberg met with the Commissioners regarding the new employee id badges. Employees will be required to were them while working.

Mark Qualman met with the Commissioners to give them the Stone Contracting contract for signature.

Public comment:

Edith Sloan and Joe Stahl were present.

Ms. Sloan asked the Commissioners what the DLA(delivering local assistance) grant was for. Commissioner Borner told her infrastructure with certain parameters. Ms. Sloan asked if the Tourism Grant would work for the vaulted latrines at the fairgrounds? Commissioner Borner told her no but Fish Wildlife and Parks may have something.

Mr. Stahl asked about Goffena bridge? Commissioner Borner told him that we received $589139.00 from TSEP and we are waiting for Montana Department of Transportation to start.

Commissioner Carlson made the motion to appoint Sheriff Shawn Lesnik to the Interdisciplinary Child Information and School Safety Team. Commissioner Borner seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Commissioner Carlson made the motion to appoint Chief Juvenile Probation Officer Andrew Koval to the Interdisciplinary Child Information and School Safety Team. Commissioner Borner seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Commissioner Carlson made the motion to appoint Department of Public Health and Human Services Regional 2 Administrator, Sahrita Jones-Jessee and Child Protection Supervisor, Elizabeth Bruchez to the Interdisciplinary Child Information and School Safety Team. Commissioner Borner seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Commissioner carlson made the motion to appoint Superintendent of Roundup Public Schools, Chad Sealey to the Interdisciplinary Child Information and School Safety Team. Commissioner Borner seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Commissioner Carlson made the motion to appoint County Attorney Office Administrator, Teresa Fauth to the Interdisciplinary Child Information and School Safety Team. Commissioner Borner seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Commissioner Borner signed General Journal Voucher 460 4th correction to change amounts per Carmen Eiselein.
