The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Pancratz. Commissioner Goffena and Commissioner Turley were present. County Attorney Krakowka and Norma Trent were also present. County Accounting Specialist Marshall was also present.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Commissioner Turley made the motion to approve the agenda for the day after taking off Catalyst for Change at one and adding County Agent Cooley in their place and adding a Website Designer call. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion as amended. Motion carried.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to approve the June, 6, 2025 minutes as written. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Meetings:
Commissioner Pancratz and Commissioner Goffena attended the RCP meeting Thursday June 12, 2025.
All Commissioners met with John Husar and owners of the Windmill Project for updates on Wednesday June 11, 2025.
All Commissioner met with the Headwaters Special Study Coalition on Wednesday June 11, 2025.
Commissioner Goffena attended a Zoom MACo Budget Committee meeting on Tuesday June 10, 2025.
Commissioner Turley attended a Hospital District Board meeting and Refuse Board meeting on Tuesday June 10, 2025. Commissioner Turley and Norma Trent visited the Republic Office.
Public comment:
Betty and Russell Haynes, Dan and Carol McCaffree, Joan Minnie, Ashley and Matt Craig, Susan Churchill, Sherri Stiles and Bob Goffena met with the Commissioners regarding the funding match from the County to the Council on Aging. The Commissioners are waiting for an audit to be done for checks and balances of the Council on Aging monies.
Business:
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to vote on getting the Courthouse roof seal coated with 100% silicone from the quote from Seal Tight. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion. Motion carried
Commissioner Turley made the motion to sign the AIA Contract Amendment and associated documents for the stabilization work for the Wier Project. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion, motion carried.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to sign the Memorandum of Understanding submitted by the Wool Growers association for FY 2026. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Frank Kelly met with the Commissioner to discuss a 99-year lease with the American Legion for County owned land where they are wanting to build on for an office. Mr. Kelly is also waiting to hear from the Central Montana Regional Water District in regard to water for the building. The Commissioners need to meet with County Attorney Krakowka and WWC Engineering to discuss the plan.
Sheriff Lesnik gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. They are going to have another meeting next week with County Accounting Specialist Marshall for the budgets. The bad storms we have been having were talked about.
DES Coordinator Rook gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. There were 2 fires last week. Director Russell has been in Helena with the CAT Team working on fires. The Medical SKID Unit has been ordered.
Treasurer Hetrick submitted the May Reconciliation Report.
Community Health Worker Berg gave her weekly report to the Commissioners. There were 3 new people who signed up this week. She has been working with Chrity May from Catalyst for Change on how to track and follow HIPA Rules in their program.
Veronica Alif, LLC visited with the Commissioners to possibly work on a new website for the County. She will do an assessment and get back to us.
Theresa Doumitt discussed Wier Building updates with the Commission. These discussions included the AIA Amendment and future construction meeting dates, reimbursement check for , the incredible progress of the hazardous materials cleanup work, the communications and information regarding the historic documents, and appointment to work with Justina for the Wier project.
Public comment:
Warren Hansen, Tom Harsch and Dave Shreve were present to ask if the Airport is still involved in the Musselshell County Middle Water District? The Commissioners told them they are still in the District but did sign an agreement with Central Montana Regional Water District to get water to the Airport.
Bob Goffena and Tracy Moody with the Council on aging were present with a letter from the Councils accountant with an Audit Requirement Statement. The Commissioners suggested the Council speak to Area II Agency on Aging.
Angie Tatman from the Rodeo Association was present regarding hydrants that are shut off at the fairgrounds. The Commissioners will check into it.
There being no further business Commissioner Turley made the motion to adjourn. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
