June 3, 2022
The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Goffena. Commissioner Turley and Commissioner Pancratz were present.
Pledge of Allegiance.
County agent Solf gave her weekly report to the Commissioners. The first of the pest series went well. Ms. Solf will be sending surveys out regarding the class. They had a 4-H clean up at the fairgrounds. They are still working on getting the other half of the latrine. Ms. Solf will be at 4-H camp all next week and will not be attending next weeks meeting. The 4-H Fair is July 16 – 23, 2022Ms. Solf will be working on having continuing estate planning classes and possibly more classes for food preservation.
Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to approve the agenda after adding appointing, Bill Edwards, Meriel Beck and Bette Ross to the Election Audit Committee. Commissioner Turley made the motion to approve the agenda as amended.
Commissioner Turley made the motion to approve the minutes from the May 27, 2022 meeting as written. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Goffena and Commissioner Turley attended the may 25, 2022 meeting with the residents of the Roundup Mesa Subdivision with Monty Sealey from the Central Montana Regional Water Authority about getting a Water District organized. The Commissioner will decide if they will be doing a PER (Preliminary Engineering Report) for the district at the 3:00 business.
Commissioner Goffena and Commissioner Turley met with the Roundup Hospital Board on May 31, 2022 to go over the CDBG Grant/Laon they had with the County.
Commissioner Pancratz attended a Fire Council meeting on June 2, 2022. The budgets were discussed and how the departments were going to be pitching in on the cost of the new UTV that will be used by all. The decision was they capital improvement funds will be used.
Christine Wickhorst met with the Commissioners regarding purchasing property that was in the FEMA buyout. The Commissioners will get back to Ms. Wickhorst after speaking to DES Director Russel, but they think that property she is talking about is going to belong to the City.
Betty Schwab came in to ask if there is going to be more work done at the new Farrel Street Bridge site. The Commissioner assured her the Road Department is still working on it.
Sheriff Lesnik met with the Commissioners but had nothing new to report.
DES Coordinator Rook gave the weekly report to the Commissioners. Mr. Rook will ask Director Russell about the FEMA property that was asked about earlier in the meeting. DES was awarded $21,000.00 for the CFPC (Cooperative Fire Protection Capacity Grant). Road signs are being worked on. They are working grants for sight hardening for windows and doors at the schools. There are 2 active cases of COVID in Musselshell County.
Mayor Jones came in and gave the Commissioner the City budget for the care of the pool to review.
Public comment:
Bob Varney and Ken Naylor from the Roundup Mesa Subdivision were present. Mr. Naylor wanted to give a formal notice to the Commissioners that they are going to for a Water District.

Commissioner Turley made the motion to draft a letter to Roundup Memorial Hospital regarding the CDBG Loan/Grant. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to fund the Professional Engineering Report for the Roundup Mesa Subdivision water project with ARPA funds. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Turley made the motion to appoint Bill Edwards, Meriel Beck and Bette Ross to the Election Audit Committee. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business Commissioner Turley made the motion to adjourn. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
