On March 15, 2021 the Commissioners met with Floyd Fisher and safety Coordinator Manderfeld to discuss new phone systems and security.

The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Goffena.  Commissioner Turley and Commissioner Pancratz were present.

Pledge of Allegiance.

Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to suspend the rules to add signing the work contract for Handyman Construction for the roof on the 4H building to the agenda. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Turley made the motion to approve the agenda as amended. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to approve the minutes as is.  Commissioner Turley seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

The Commissioners did not have any board meetings.

The Commissioners want to have a Planning Board meeting to discuss possible zoning and permitting for Musselshell County.

Farrell Town properties were discussed. Letters may need to be sent to some land owners.

Maintenance Supervisor Jett gave her weekly report to the Commissioners. Ms. Jett has been working on the list of safety fixes. The fire extinguisher box was installed in the Courtroom.

Floyd Fisher met with the Commissioners to give an update on security.  We are going to get quotes on a new phone system for the County and a camera system for upstairs.

Dean Creek Fire Chief Steve Tyrell met with the Commissioners to introduce himself to the new Commissioners and invite them to visit the station anytime.

Sheriff Lesnik gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. The State encroachment letter is in for the new speed limit signs. The Sheriff would like to have a meeting with the Commissioners and Dispatch Supervisor Solberg regarding calls coming in that the Sheriff’s office is not getting. They are going to be getting a new system (Zerker) for information backups.

Fire Warden Russell gave his weekly report to the Commissioners.  Final reimbursement payment for the FEMA PDA grant is in. There was a burn training at the golf course that went well. There are concerns of flash flooding in the Bobcat burn area. The ESRI (mapping) training went well. Mr. Russell has entered updated information from 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2021 and will continue working on the others.  The completed process should be done within a 10-month period.

Treasurer Hetrick met with the Commissioners to discuss implementing a service (BDS) that will save the County money and works with Black Mountain to print out and mail the County tax bills. Sheriff Lesnik was also present. The only charge would be for the paper and postage. The security system and personnel safety were discussed.

Judge Spaulding met with the Commissioners to thank them for the new bench. They will be getting a quote for some Kevlar.

Item #2 to sign the contract from Handyman Construction for the 4H building roof was tabled until the Commissioners can get some more information.

Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to review and sign the Airport Coronavirus Relief Grant Program Agreement 3-30-0066-017-2021 submitted by the U.S. Dept. of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Karen Lekse met with the Commissioners to discuss property they own in town and wanting the county to replace the fence on land they lease that got torn down during the demolition of the Meathouse Road properties.

There being no further business the motion was made to adjourn.  Motion carried.
