The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Goffena.  Commissioner Turley and Commissioner Pancratz were present.

Pledge of Allegiance.

Commissioner Turley made the motion to approve the agenda for the day.  Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to approve the minutes from the April 23, 2021 meeting and the April 26, 2021 Road Department meeting.  Commissioner Turley seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Turley had a Refuse Board meeting that he could not attend but did talk to the Secretary, Linda Yount.  There was a billing issue with McCleary’s Distributing which was resolved and the claim will be paid on the next claim day.

Maintenance Supervisor Jett gave her weekly report. Jeremy Brown from High Prairie will be fixing the urinal at the Commons.  (Mary Rose Beasley joined the meeting) They are going to have to figure out how they are going to fix or update the boiler.  We need to get costs for propane and how much it would be to replace the coal boiler to propane. (Mary Rose Beasley left the meeting)

County Attorney Peterson met with the Commissioners.

DES Coordinator Harper and Fire Warden Russell gave their weekly report to the Commissioners. The auditor’s report about our purchasing policy which he said was done sometime early 2000, was discussed and Mr. Russell provided the Commissioners with the Procurement Policy that was done in 2018. Burning is still open as of now. 1 address for last week and 1 is on hold waiting for more information. They are working on budgets for the upcoming fiscal year. The are interviewing for the seasonal rural addressing position.

Sheriff Lesnik gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. The policy book for dispatch was discussed and will need to be updated. Budget was discussed and the Commissioners will be meeting with department heads on May 14th and May 17, 2021.  There was a personnel issue.

Cody Samuelson with Key Insurance and Shannon Chambers from MACo (Montana Association of Counties) met with the Commissioners to talk about the Property and Liability Insurance renewal. There will be a 7.35 overall increase that will be effective July 1, 2021.

Treasurer Hetrick met with the Commissioners to let them know she is getting prepared to send the 2017 County Tax Deed Properties and gave the Commissioners a list of properties that shouldn’t have been charged because of ownership changes.

Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to appoint Pam Carter to the HRDC District 6 Board.  Commissioner Turley seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

There being no further business Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to adjourn. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion.  Motion carried.
