The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Goffena.  Commissioner Turley and Commissioner Pancratz were present.

Pledge of Allegiance

Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to approve the agenda as is.  Commissioner Turley seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Turley made the motion to approve the July 16, 2021 minutes. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

They received a bid on hauling the latrine from Libby. The cost will be approximately 6000.00.

Commissioner Goffena and Commissioner Turley attended the Forensic Audit meeting on Thursday July 22, 2021.

The Commissioners want to have Planning Board meeting as soon as possible.

Clerk & Recorder Tomassi met with the Commissioners. The ARPA Grant was discussed. Ms. Tomassi spoke with MACo, to apply for the grant the Chairman of the board will need to supply his personal information and will be held accountable. The Secretary of State’s Office is implementing a new election program so the Clerk & Recorders Office will be attending an Election program training in September. Budgets were discussed.

There was an HR issue.

Clerk of Court Halverson met with the Commissioners regarding storage in the Courtroom.  The Commissioners will go out for bid for the project around the new year. Ms. Halverson would like to get a paper folding machine that can be used by all departments.

Sheriff Lesnik gave his weekly report to the Commissioners.  There is a big concern that the Sheriff’s office is going to have to seize some farm animals due to the shortage of hay. It has already happened in other Counties. They are going to find hay and hopefully store it in a building at the fairgrounds.  Mr. Lesnik is going to talk to County Agent Solf to see if that would be ok.

Fire Warden Russell and interim DES Coordinator Rook gave their weekly report to the Commissioners. All requested documentation has been submitted to FEMA for the FMA & PDM buyout programs. There were 4 fires last week.  3 were caused by lightning, 1 was at the dump and caused by the garbage compactor. The price for an address is going to be $30.00. Road signs are on hold due to weather and staffing. We are going to be getting the first part of the ARAP Grant that Mr. Russell applied for. It will be used for various projects in the County.

Public comment.

Marge Runestad was present and wanted to talk to the Commissioners about some fencing on her property.

No 3:00 business.

Ambulance Director Solberg gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. Payroll and on call hours were discussed.

There being no further business the motion was made to adjourn.  Motion carried.

 

July 19, 2021 Road Department Meeting.

Commissioner Goffena, Commissioner Turley and Road and Bridge Supervisor Stockert were present.

The on-site meeting with Stahly Engineering regarding the Farrel Street Bridge Project went well. The bids have to be in by 4:00 July 23, 2021 and will be opened at the July 26, 2021 Road Department meeting at 8:30. Blading has been started on Melstone Custer Rd. Harris, Fattig Creek, E. Parrot and Horsethief. Cattle guard cleaned on Keegy Coulee. A big cotton wood tree was removed on Mine Road.
