The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Turley. Commissioner Pancratz and Commissioner Goffena were present.

Pledge of Allegiance.

Commissioner Goffena made the motion to approve the agenda as written. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to approve the minutes from the May 12, 2023 after a grammar error was changed. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to approve the April 20, 2023 Water District minutes as written. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Turley and Commissioner Goffena had a meeting with Thad McGrail and John Thomas with Systems regarding new phones.

Commissioner Goffena had met with Kelly Gebhardt about ARPA money the Airport has received. They are going to use the funds for fuel.

Maintenance Supervisor Jett gave her weekly report to the Commissioners. The flooring in the lady’s restroom is coming up in one spot. The Commissioners said the company that put the floor down should fix it and to let them know. There is an issue with the tractor maintenance uses being stored in the cold storage building. A storage shed at the Commons was broken into.

Clerk of District Court Halverson wanted the Commissioners to look at the chairs in the courtroom. Mrs. Halverson will be buying cushions for them.

County Agent Solf gave her weekly report to the Commissioners. There is a lot of Black Grass Bug damage at the Musselshell Golden Valley line, in the wheat grass pastures that has been sprayed. The succulent workshop went well and had a good turnout.

Sheriff Lesnik gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. County Attorney Larsen was also present.  Sheriff Lesnik turned his 23/24 budget into CFO Kirk.

DES Director Russell and Coordinator Rook gave their weekly report to the Commissioner. There will be a Floodplain Variance on the Agenda Friday June 2, 2023.  The culvert grant is under review.  There were 4 new addresses this week. There will be a pre-season fire training test at the walking trail Saturday May 20, 2023.

CFO Kirk met with the Commissioners to go over some budget issues.

Ambulance Director Solberg gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. EMT classes will be finishing up in approximately 3 weeks. We will be getting an estimate for the new phones.

Henry Bedford from the Airport Board visited with the Commissioners regarding hiring someone for maintenance at the airport and the need to lower the jet fuel prices.

Commissioner Goffena made the motion to sign Resolution 2023-31 to receive the DNRC Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant (VFA) submitted by DES Director Justin Russell. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to sign Resolution 2023-32 accepting the Boundaries for the proposed Middle Musselshell Water District from the PER done by GreatWest. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

There being no further business Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to adjourn. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Turley and Commissioner Goffena did the second run of claims for the month of May, 2023.

May 22, 2023 Road Department Meeting

 

Commissioner Turley, Commissioner Goffena, Road and Bridge Supervisor Stockert and Secretary Newman were present.

There is a beaver out Hawk Creek Road that has built a Dam by a culvert. It will cause problems in the close future. Tom has called Fish & Game twice to see what we can do about it, we have yet to receive a return call.  We have posted an ad in the newspaper and on the local radio station for Job opening of Road Worker/Operator. Guys have been out pulling roads. Almost done out on Dailey Road and will be moving to Eagle Rock next. Melstone-Custer, Majerus, Hawk Creek, Colony, Rehder. Keep up the good work guys. We need a Walk-n-Roll upgrade. We currently have one that keeps breaking and has been welded numerous times. We are waiting to find out price of a different one with using the other one as a trade in.
