The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Goffena.  Commissioner Turley and Commissioner Pancratz were present.

Pledge of Allegiance.

Commissioner Turley made the motion to approve the agenda as is. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to approve the minutes from the May 20 2022 meeting as written. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Commissioner Goffena attended a Council on Aging meeting. The State has cut the commodities in half for Musselshell County.  Commissioner Goffena is going to send and e-mail to Governor Gianforte to ask why. Payments for the Senior Center meals have been raised to $5.00 to help cover the high cost of containers and food.

All Commissioners attended the Signal Peak Community Foundation meeting to support DES Director Russell in his presentation for a UTV for the use of all Departments in an emergency event. Mr. Russell was awarded $30,000.00.

Maintenance Supervisor Jett is out on medical leave.

County Agent Solf gave her weekly report to the Commissioners.  The Ag Pest Series start on Tuesday May 31, 2022. Ms. Solf took a water quality training and will soon be able to do testing. Ms. Solf would like one of the Commissioners to be a herdsman judge at the 4H Fair July 16 – 23, 2022. Saturday June 4 there will be a market hog clinic. The next Fair Board meeting is June 21, 2022 at 5:30.

Sheriff Lesnik gave his weekly report to the Commissioners.  Mr. Lesnik met with the Chamber of Commerce and the July 3rd Parade will be held at 1:00 P.M. instead of 11:00 A.M.

DES Director Russell, Coordinator Rook and Rural Addressing Assistant Gomez gave their weekly report to the Commissioners. There will be a Fire Council Meeting June 2, 2022 at 7:00 P.M. They are doing retro fits for sign security in Rural Addressing.  Homeland Security fully funded the East Repeater.

Treasure Hetrick spoke with the Commissioner about the Superintendent Contract with Rosebud County that is on the 3:00 business.

Ambulance Director Solberg gave his weekly report to the Commissioners.  The East repeater that was funded by the Homeland Security Grant will definitely give better reception when they use it for calls. They will be working on getting wi-fi in the main room of the Commons.

Public Comment:

Theresa Doumit called in with an update on the Welcome Center Kiosk. The plan was accepted by City Council with 2 changes.  Diagonal parking and widen the road.  A private donner was going to be giving $10,000.00 and instead gave $20,000.00. A big THANK YOU to that private donner. The Department of Commerce Main Street Programs was going to give $10,000.00 but is giving $50,000.00 instead.  A big THANK YOU to them also.

Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to re-sign the agreement with PitneyBowes for the new mail system. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Turley made the motion to sign the lease for the South Repeater. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to select 3 people to be on the Election Audit Committee. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion. Bill Edwards, Meriel Beck and Bette Ross were selected and will be appointed Friday June 3, 2022

2020/2021 Audit Closeout Interview- Bob Denning with Denning & Downing Associates called in to go over the Audit. Mr. Denning gave the County a “Clean Opinion” on their audit and would like it noted that the Treasurers Office, Clerk & Recorder and CFO Kirk were wonderful to work with.

There being no further business the motion was made to adjourn.  Motion carried.

There was not a Road Department meeting on May 23, 2022.
