The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Pancratz. Commissioner Goffena and Commissioner Turley were present.
County Attorney Krakowka was present
Pledge of Allegiance.
Commissioner Turley made the motion to approve the agenda after adding Resolution 2025-9 to receive the Flood Assistance Grant FMS-PJ-08-MT-2023-001 for the Busy Bee property. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to approve the February 7, 2025 minutes as written. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Turley attended a Refuse Board meeting on Tuesday February 11, 2025.
Clerk & Recorder Tomassi met with the Commissioners regarding starting wages of employees.
Public Comment:
Norma Trent entered the meeting.
Ms. Trent mentioned to the Commissioners an article in the Roundup Record regarding a citizens’ concerns about the purchase of the Wier building. The Commissioners said their office is always open and transparent. Anyone can go to the County website and check out the YouTube recordings where the topic has been discussed many times over the last few months. As always, everyone is welcome to come to the Friday meetings.

Commissioner Turley made the motion to sign the title documents for the Swift Current Grant and the Busy Bee property. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to sign the Agreement to C & C Excavation for property located at 17047 Highway 12. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Turley made the motion to discuss and possibly vote on signing the invoice for membership dues with Snowy Mountain Development Corporation. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Discussion: Commissioner Pancratz went to the SMDC Board meeting where this was discussed and they supported the increase and it is a worthy investment for counties.
Review and sign Resolution 2025-9 to receive the Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant FMA-PJ-MT-2023-001 for the purchase of the Busy Bee property.
Theresa Doumitt met with the Commissioners for her weekly Wier Meeting. They will be doing Resolutions for the grants we are receiving. They are going to be opening bids soon for construction.
County Agent Cooley gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. The Watershed meeting on Thursday February 13, 2025 was cancelled and will be rescheduled for the 20th or 27th of February. Mr. Cooley would like to do an “estate planning and business structuring” session this summer. He is working on setting up judges for the 4H Fair which is tentatively scheduled for the end of July.
Sheriff Lesnik gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. They are down to 2 inmates, and they have received the new car. There are horse’s South of town that are not being fed or watered.
DES Director Russell and Coordinator Rook gave their weekly report to the Commissioners. Nick Vertz from the National Weather Service was also present to introduce himself. Mr. Russell explained that Mr. Vertz is their contact for any weather warning. They are waiting on letters of support for the West repeater from DNRC, BLM, Golden Valley and Yellowstone County.
Pam Reed with Tetra Tech called into the Commissioners regarding the Farmers Union property. DEQ is asking for a larger investigation from the Petra Board into the soil conformation samples. The Petra Board and DEQ need to come to a decision.
Community Health Worker Berg gave her weekly report to the Commissioners. Her office behind the Chiropractor in town is completed and she will be moving in February 17, 2025.
Public Comment:
Barb Wacker was present to discuss Allen Road. The Commissioner told her they would discuss the issues with the County Attorney, but they think it is a civil matter.
Angie Tatman and George Greisman met with the Commissioners regarding the panels at the fairgrounds and if they have talked to the Fair Board about the purchase. The Board meeting that was scheduled was cancelled so they didn’t get to mention it to them but for safety reasons the Commissioners are willing to match what the Fair Board can put up for the panels.

There being no further business Commissioner Turley made the motion to adjourn. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
